Aambe Dal


Aambe Dal
Ingredients:

  1 cup gram dal (chana dal),
  1 tbsp garlic paste (optional)
  1 tbsp ginger paste,
  2 tbsp raw mango grated
  3 green chilies,
  1 cup freshly grated coconut freshly grated coconut,
 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, 
 ¼ tsp cumin seeds (jeera),
  ¼ tsp mustard seeds (rai),
 1 tsp oil,
 Salt as per taste
 Sugar a pinch
 Water
Garnish with red fried chillies and raw mango


Method :

    Soak the dal in water for 3-4 hours (or in hot water for 1 hour)

    Drain and coarsely grind with salt, ginger paste, garlic paste, sugar  , raw mango and
     1 green chilli.

    Heat oil and season with mustard and cumin seeds. 
    Cool the tadka.

    Chop and add the remaining green chilies.

    Add the ground dal and mix well.

    Let cool, garnish with grated coconut, fried red chillies and fresh coriander and serve.
