Carrot Dhokla
Ingredients
2 cup grated Carrot
1 cup chana dal
1/2 cup moong dal
1/4 urad dal
4-5 green chillies
ginger grated 1 spoon
lemon juice 1 spoon
turmeric 1/4 spoon
sugar a pinch
cumin powder 1/4 spoon
1/2 Sodium Carbonate a pinch
coriander for garnish
Method
Soak all the dals for 1 or 1 -1 /2 hour in water and grind them in mixer.
Add grated carrot, green chillies, ginger, salt, lemon juice, turmeric, sugar, cumin powder and mix well to make a smooth batter. The batter should be of thick consistency.
Make two equal parts of the batter and on one part pour 1/2 tsp sodium carbonate and hot oil.
Grease a baking dish with oil and pour the batter.
Keep the baking dish in steamer and cook for 15-20 minutes or till done.
Cut the dhokla into cubes.
Heat little in a pan and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. allow to splutter. Remove from heat and pour on dhoklas.
Garnish with coriander and serve with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
