Soya Chunks And  Peas Kurma

Ingredients

Mini soya chunks/Meal maker- 1 cup
Fresh green peas- 1 1/2 cups
Medium onion -1
Tomatoes- 2 cut to small pieces
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Red chilly powder - 1/2 to 3/4th tsp
Small cloves -2
Cardamom- 1
Cinnamon stick- a small piece
Bay leaf-1
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
A small ginger piece
Small Garlic pods- 2
Few Coriander leaves
Salt and lemon juice to taste
Tomato paste - 1/2 tsp
Brown sugar/ regular sugar- 1/4th tsp

Method

Soak the soya chunks in warm water for few minutes till they soften.
 Drain and squeeze out the excess water from the soya chunks.
In a pan add a tsp of oil and shallow fry the soya chunks for few minutes.
 Remove in plate.
Take ginger garlic, onion and tomato pieces to a mixer and grind to fine paste with the help of some water.
Now take a skillet add three teaspoons of oil, followed by 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds. Then add the bay leaf,cloves, cardamom and cinnamon. Fry for few seconds. Then add the ground mixture and some salt. Mix and reduce the heat to medium low and cook for ten minutes. Stir in between.
Add the coriander and chilly powder. Fry for 30 seconds. Add the mini soya chunks and peas. Let the soya and peas get well incorporated in the masala. Add some water and let the gravy simmer to get the desired
consitency.
Finally add the garam masala powder, tomato paste,lemon juice and necessary salt. Let it simmer for another five minutes. Finally add the chopped coriander leaves. Serve with roti or pulav.
